Tab key for PuTTY on Nokia E61

September 19, 2007

Being able to use PuTTY mobile is one of the reasons I’ve upgraded my cellphone to E61.
It’s QWERTY keypad make it easier to type a command or two. But lately I think something missing when typing some linux commands on it.
As a newbie I’m too lazy to type a complete linux command or a path without typos error.
So a Tab for Bash auto completion’s definitely an essential key for me.
But I couldn’t find such key on E61 keypad. Putty for S60v3 doesn’t have such options for sending Tab key either.
Several googling lead me to this nice article on the web.
Yes to send a Tab key on E61s PuTTY simply press Ctrl+i (Ctrl key and an i).

Hehe so much prologue just to inform this Ctrl+i combination (Hey, I’m trying so hard to write this in English!)

Try it by tourself. Happy SSH-ing ^_^
